Turbo marmoratus, known as the green turban, the marbled turban or great green turban, are a large species of marine gastropod. It's a heavy, thick shell with ridged walls around the top spiral. The green turban shell is in the family Turbinidae, (turban snails). They have beautiful mother of pearl interiors, with the marbled variations of greens, chocolate browns, and natural ivory/ tan patterns of color.
Due to the weight of some of the larger shells they have often been used as doorstops and paperweights throughout history.
